It All Started with One Idea...

If you've been around Kirkcaldy lately, you've probably heard me mention the words "Kirkcaldy Collective" once or twice (okay, maybe more than once!).

It started as a simple idea - to bring together the brilliant businesses, creatives, charities and community groups that make our town what it is. But very quickly, it's turned into something so much bigger than I could have imagined.

Where It All Began

Like many good ideas, it started with a chat.

I kept meeting incredible people who were doing amazing things for Kirkcaldy - but often working away quietly, without the recognition or support they deserved.

It got me thinking: what if we brought all these people together?

A space where we could share ideas, collaborate together, support each other, and shout about everything good happening right here on our doorstep.

That's how Kirkcaldy Collective was born - a community driven movement to make local louder!

What We've Built So Far

Since that first conversation, we've grown faster than I ever expected.

We've hosted networking nights full of real conversation and connection, non-working lunches where local organisations put down their tools for the afternoon, take a midweek break, and recharge their batteries while meeting like-minded people - instead of spending another lunch break alone, behind a desk, chatting to the dog!

We've run wellness days focussed on community wellbeing - bringing together local health and wellness businesses from across Kirkcaldy, to create an accessible day for everyone to reset and put their health at the top of the list for once.

And we even launced our Interactive Business Showcase at The Mercat Shopping Centre - six weekends of celebrating everything Kirkcaldy has to offer.

Every event reminds me why I do this. I see people walk in unsure and leave with new friends, collaborations, and a renewed sense of pride in our town. That’s the magic of it!

What's next for Kirkcaldy

We're just getting started!

Over the coming months, we’ll be introducing more events, more collaborations, and even launching Kirkcaldy’s very own Business Directory - a local-first hub to spotlight the brilliant businesses, creatives, and changemakers shaping our town’s future.

There are exciting plans in the pipeline too - think training sessions, pop-up markets, wellness retreats, and creative, mindful collaborations that all help Kirkcaldy thrive again.
