Write ON is a friendly, no-pressure creative writing group for amateur and unpublished writers - and the best part is, it’s completely FREE. There’s no long-term commitment and no previous experience required. Just bring yourself, a pen, and a bit of imagination.

Whether you’re curious about writing, looking to get back into it, or simply want a relaxed creative hour with others, this group offers a welcoming space to explore ideas and have fun with words.

Each session includes light writing prompts, playful exercises, and inspiration drawn from the Galleries’ collection. 

One session might have you responding to an artwork; another might spark a poem from an object or story. No pressure, no judgement - just creative exploration.

📝 Write ON: Part One

Led by a member of the Galleries team, Write ON: Part One runs on the second Sunday of every month, 1pm–2pm.

Every session is different - you might write a character, craft a short story, respond to a painting, or experiment with poetry. It’s a gentle, encouraging hour ideal for anyone wanting to build confidence and enjoy writing in a supportive group.
